This is well worth 15 minutes of your time
My New Ride
Ok, I am taking this seriously, I have just bought this bike (a Specialized Allez Elite) and I intend to sign myself up to the palace to palace bike ride what has come over me?
Cycle revelation
Well I have just completed my first cycle into work for the first time in over a year and a half. 9 miles in just under 1 hour (55 mins). It’s nothing to write home about (or blog) in terms of time, but as I sit here endorphins flowing and feeling great I wonder why on earth I stopped! So this public note is more for me to not get into a rut and stop and remember how good I feel right now, before my legs begin to ache and the thought of having to go home against the wind later sets in.
Also testament to my bike a Specialized Sirrus Comp which I bought in 2007, 4 years later after a full service and new back brake it rides like new.
App – souletly brilliant
It’s not often that I get excited about something that I purchase that I feel I absolutely have to tell others how good it is. I have recently downloaded Jamie Oliver’s new I phone App called 20 Minute Meals – http://www.jamieoliver.com/20-minute-meals/. At five quid it is certainly pricier than the average App and did make think twice before downloading it; however I am glad I did. This is probably one on the best apps I have seen…..period. First off it is very well thought out – you can see that the agency and client have clearly not lost site of the brief and target that the App is designed to reach – busy people who would love to cook but rarely have time at home after a hard days work. Not only are the recipes easy to read and follow with step buy step guides and pictures but it allows you to simply create and edit shopping lists from the App – you can even email it to yourself or partner.
As well as the recipes you also have some great videos that cover everything from cutting an onion correctly to how to cook the perfect steak. With over 50 recipes and over 90 minutes of how to videos, I think that the price popint of £5.00 is a bargain. But the real reason why I am so excited by this app is that for me it really demonstrates how powerful a mobile application can be when it is well thought out and executed with the target market and objective front of mind. At a recent IAB forum someone said that apps should either kill time or save time – I think this does both very well.
Augmented Reality twitter client
Augmented reality seems to be the buzz word in mobile at the moment, love how this demo layers live video of the area around and includes where people are twittering from using the I Phone camera.
